What are keywords? 

Keywords are specific terms or phrases that encapsulate the main ideas or concepts of your research question. The research question can be posed as a thesis statement or it may be a specific question your professor has required. Whatever the reason is, Keywords help you retrieve relevant results.

Selecting the right Keywords will guide your search and provide relevant and useful resources.

Keep in mind, that choosing keywords can require some experimentation—you may find yourself changing keywords or using synonyms to tweak your results.

Additionally, the use of Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT) in combination with your keywords can help to refine your searches further. Mastering the use of keywords can dramatically improve the efficiency and success of your database searches.
